Climate Change

With all three group presentations now done, I feel like I have learned a little bit of information from each presentation. I mainly learned more from my group’s presentation about climate change because going into the presentation, I did not know much about the topic. Once I was assigned my part, I did not know how many ways we can preserve the earth and the methods that the government is trying already to help the earth out. It is a great thing that we are trying to do something about climate change because what it has caused and what it is going to cause in the future is drastic. For example, I love polar bears; they are very furry and cute and although they might kill you, they are very adorable animals. Due to global warming, they will become extinct if we don't do something about climate change. Many animals are going to get affected by climate change and it is sad to see animals get wiped out. They are animals that we humans have the ability to protect. It will also be painful to go through the horrors of climate change. We humans will suffer all at once; the sun will get warmer than it will ever be and could potentially burn us alive if it gets to that point. Along with the heat, we could also have hurricanes like we have never seen with wind speeds that could destroy even a well-built home. It's already a work in progress as Hurricane Dorian was one of the most recent hurricanes to have devastating effects on the Bahamas. As the human race, we have to act and wake people up to see what could happen and avoid it before it is too late. I think that climate change is a real issue going on right now and thanks to my group’s presentation, I can now help out in the fight against climate change.

Death Penalty

With the other group presentations, I found them to be also very informative with the presentation of the death penalty. My own opinion with the death penalty is that it should not be allowed, rather that people who do the worst crimes that a human being can do should suffer a long, painful life in the worst place that a human can be which is a maximum facility where they do the same thing everyday or the days get worse. Although the death penalty is still around which means that criminals are in a way taking the easy way out, it depends on the way you look at it. The way I see it, death is the easy way out because it means you basically escape all the consequences by ending your life and criminals usually don't care about their lives once they figure out what will happen. Ending your life in prison isn't just painful, it's very difficult. On the other hand, ending your life before prison is not painful it's quick and painless which gives criminals satisfaction that nothing bad will ever happen to them. Since criminals think this way, the best course of action is to get rid of the death penalty as a whole and let these criminals suffer a whole life time in prison where it is an endless repetition until their lives end in prison. Many murderers and criminals that are deserving of the death penalty always get a last meal which should not even be an exception. They took a life or many lives and should not get to eat whatever they want. They get the easy way out and a bonus with whatever they want to eat. Also, when they usually get the lethal injection with their last words, they seem satisfied and say something you wouldn't expect a person who is about to die to say. So through the group’s presentation about the death penalty, I got to know more about the other side of the argument and how people who say the death penalty should be allowed think and why they think that. It is always good to know how the other side of the argument perceives things.

Infrastructure

Regarding infrastructure, I never knew what it really was but this group’s presentation was very helpful and informative about what infrastructure was and I find it interesting. I always thought that infrastructure meant something about destruction but I wasn’t completely wrong because it focuses on buildings, roads, etc. In my city of Miami, the infrastructure could use a lot of work because I have seen not just on the news but in person how bad the infrastructure is here. Everyone in the world knows that Miami is one of the best places in the world but that is far from the truth. Miami has many infrastructure problems with the roads and I feel like the buildings are very compact together but that's just me. Besides that, I can't complain too much because out of everywhere in the world people are not as fortunate as me to at least have roads and good places to visit . I have found a new appreciation for my city’s infrastructure, even though there are still many pot holes in my area. Hopefully, they will be fixed one day.

Conclusion

In conclusion, all presentations were very helpful and informative. I praise all of them for their hard work and presentations. I do think that because of these presentations, it did help me and many others out. Like for the death penalty, I understand why people feel that it should be allowed because criminals do not have a place in this world. They are not deserving of the gift that is life and should therefore suffer a lifetime in prison because the victims had their gift of life taken away from them and they leave behind family and friends who they have had their whole lives to interact with. As for infrastructure, I am very blessed to have a city that has decent infrastructure. Having decent infrastructure is better than having none, so I am pleased but Miami could definitely use some work. Thanks to every group for their presentations because now i have learned quite a lot and I can tackle these topics.  I especially feel very confident that people also learned from my group’s presentation since it was about a very serious topic that can determine how the world will either continue living or how we humans can destroy this world. Overall, fantastic presentations from all groups.
